Nika Maximum Treatment Application Guide

Materials Required:

  • Fairy Silk Smoothing Shampoo: Prepares the hair by removing residues and impurities.
  • Hairdryer.
  • Clips or hair ties.
  • Brush for application.
  • Fine-toothed comb.
  • NIKA Maximum Fairy Silk treatment.
  • Fairy Silk Extender: Anti-frizz and treatment extender.
  • Hair straightener with temperature adjustment.
  • Fairy Silk Deep Conditioner: 2-in-1 conditioner and mask.
  • Fairy Silk Shimmer: Smoothing oil and sealant protector.
  • Flexion (L) brush.

Preparation:

  1. Wash your hair twice with the Fairy Silk Smoothing Shampoo to remove any residues or impurities.
  2. Dry your hair 80%, avoiding creating volume.

Application:

  1. Division and Preparation: Divide the hair into manageable sections, not too thick, using hair clips or elastics.
  2. Treatment Application: Shake the bottle of NIKA Maximum Fairy Silk well. Use a brush to apply the product on sections about 2 cm wide, distributing evenly from the roots to the tips with a fine-toothed comb.
  3. Updated Processing Time: For resistant, fine, or afro hair types, leave the treatment on for 45 minutes. For all other hair types, the processing time is 35 minutes. It is recommended to exceed this time by 10-15 minutes without fearing side effects. For particularly resistant hair, it is useful to cover and apply heat with a hair dryer.
  4. No Rinse Needed: After the processing time, it is not necessary to rinse the treatment from the hair. This allows the treatment to continue working and optimize the smoothing effect during drying.
  5. Drying and Extender: Apply the Fairy Silk Extender to your hair. Proceed with a complete drying using the Flexion (L) brush.

Finishing:

  1. Rinse and Conditioning: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and apply Fairy Silk Deep Conditioner. Leave on for 10 minutes then rinse.
  2. Finish: Reapply Fairy Silk Extender and dry your hair, adding shine with Fairy Silk Shimmer.

Post-Treatment Advice:

  • Avoid frequent washes to prolong the results.
  • Use sulfate-free products for treated hair care.
  • Avoid the use of high-temperature tools without thermal protection.

No Frizz

A treatment to remove frizz while maintaining the natural movement of the hair, specially formulated for those who love waves, but hate frizzy hair that tends to become bushy. The result is frizz free hair for up to 3 months.

1 HOUR

  • Wash hair twice with Moisture Lock Shampoo and pat dry.
  • Divide the hair into sections, put on a pair of gloves. Use 40 ml of Maximum. Use the
  • Apply with a brush onto transparent strands (2 cm in width) to roots, lengths and ends. Comb through the hair with a fine-toothed comb to distribute the product evenly.
  • Cover with a cap and leave under a bonnet or hood dryer for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse and pat dry. Apply Moisture Lock Deep Conditioner, to seal the treatment inside the hair fibre, leave in for 10 minutes and rinse.
  • Apply Extender, finish drying the hair and add shine with Shimmer.

Smoothly 60’

The new straightening treatment by Nika capable of creating a silky straight look that lasts for up to 6 weeks, in just 60 minutes. The only treatment that can be applied combined with the Colouring Service. It’s an easy and fast way to obtain all the advantages of Sublime straight and a sensational colour with intense shine. In fact, it only takes 10 more minutes after the colouring service for SMOOTHLY 60’ to work its magic!

1 HOUR

  • Wash hair twice with Moisture Lock Shampoo and pat dry.
  • Divide the hair into sections, put on a pair of gloves. Use 20 ml of Maximum with 2 pumps of Shimmer (1 pump for every 10 ml of Maximum). Use the correct quantities based on the length and porosity of the hair.
  • Apply with a brush to large strands (6 cm in width) starting from the nape of the neck, at a distance of about 6 mm, covering roots, lengths and ends. Comb through the hair with a fine-toothed comb 15 times to distribute the product more effectively.
  • Apply Extender and finish drying the hair. Use a flat brush.
  • Straighten large strands with the styling iron (6 cm in width): 200°C: Use 2 - 4 times on all hair types.

Yes. Hair can be washed on the same day as the straightening treatments without affecting the duration of the treatments and/or the end result.

Can the treatments be used during pregnan- cy or breastfeeding?

Although no contraindications and/or unwan- ted effects exist, we recommend that you consult your doctor before proceeding with the straightening treatments.

Can I apply the treatments at the same time as a colouring service?

No. We recommend applying the treatments 15 days before or after the colouring service, except Smoothly 60’, which can be applied in the same sitting as the colouring service, once the colour has been left in for the indicated time.

Can hair be tied back or in a ponytail just after straightening?

No, it is advisable to wait at least 3 days before tying it back or using hair ties to avoid leaving a mark.

Does the hair require cutting before or after the treatment?

We recommend cutting the hair after the treat- ment, as this will make it straighter and cause it to sit differently on the shoulders.

Can Maximum alter the hair colour?

Yes. In some cases, due to the intense heat of the straightening iron, Maximum may alter the hair colour. In this case, the colour can be re- stored by adding a toner or tone-on-tone and revitalising the radiance of the hair with Shim- mer. If you need to neutralise yellow and copper tones, we recommend washing the hair with the Frozen Blonde shampoo, rich in bluish-purple pigments, then applying Moisture Lock Deep Conditioner.

Why is there no need to use One Wash befo- re applying Maximum?

Because the new Maximum formula means that the hair fibre can be straightened without any particular need to open the cuticles. Additional- ly, Moisture Lock Shampoo guarantees that the hair is adequately prepped, keeping it in opti- mum conditions to receive the treatment.

If the hair becomes weighed down, recommend that the customer return and have it washed after 2 days. After the treatment, the custo- mer must not wet their hair for at least 8 hours. Should the hair get wet, dry it by straightening it with the styling iron a couple of times at 180C.

What can be done to extend the duration of the home treatments?

We recommend using the Home Care routine products of the Fairy Silk line: Moisture Lock Shampoo, Moisture Lock Deep Conditioner, Ex- tender and Shimmer, are all paraben, SLS and SLES free. Moreover, they are salt free to ex- tend and preserve the results of the treatments obtained in the salon.
